The Sahtas Terracotta Corporation was established in 1979 to produce machine made earthenware in Izmir, Turkey.

In 2002 The Sahtas Terracotta converted it’s production to 100% handmade earthenware due to the increased consumer demand. This was made easily possible utilizing existing Hoffman Kilns.

The Sahtas Terracotta offers wide variety of quality building products from roofing tiles to garden ornaments that are durable, rustic and decorative. At Sahtas Terracotta we sincerely believe in creating an excellent product, utilizing the latest analizing techniques.

The fundemental objective of Sahtas Terracotta is to offer products that are qualified above expectations of our industry. We guarantee this with our in house quality control and product development laboratories.

These production and testing activities are performed in our company owned plant that is in access of 155.000 m2.

Starting in 2002 our export activity increased 30% yearly. In 2007 more than 8.000.000 handmade earthenware was exported . Our export expectations for the year 2012 is 20.000.000. Our current handmade earthenware production capacity is 24.000.000. Currently 100% of our production is exports to EU however, there is an increasing demand for high quality earthenware products here in Turkey which we are happy to meet.

In scope of all production activities, the world standards i.e. BS- British Standard and EN- European Standards are applied and our company also is acting the member of CERAM-UK as of 2004.

The Sahtas Terracotta has been awarded ISO 9001:2000, 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001 Quality Assurance Certificates. In transit our product is insured by AIG Insurance. When Product Liability and Transportation Insurance is concerned, we are proud to admit AIG is parallel to our Company philosophy.
